Bottom of the Bay Regatta: Hoist your sails for this fun and exciting new Women & Girls in Sailing annual event – the Bottom of the Bay Regatta. The regatta to be held at the bottom of Port Phillip, at the beautiful Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club, will see sailors compete for the inaugural BOB Trophy. All off the beach classes are welcome. Women & Girls Coaching Sessions The Victorian Laser Association and Victorian Laser coach Mark Tonner-Joyce are pleased to advise the third Women and Girls coaching session will be held at Sandringham Yacht Club on Sunday 15 February commencing at 9am. Read more and register.


Women and Girls in Sailing Club Representative (WGIS CR) The role of WGIS CR is open to either men or women and is somebody who works to positively promote female friendliness at your club. We hope your club will nominate a member to the WGIS Club Representative role. The nominated person should be passionate about sailing, a good communicator and will act as the initial contact point for prospective and existing female sailors. WGIS Committee seeking new member The Women & Girls in Sailing Committee of Yachting Victoria are seeking an enthusiastic person with skills in areas of website and communications to join our committee. The WGIS committee is dedicated to encouraging more Victorian females to participate in sailing, whether it is in keelboats, dinghies, catamarans, powerboats, officiating or any other role. As a sub-committee of Yachting Victoria we have made significant progress in promoting and raising the profile of women and girls in sailing and we now need assistance to share what is happening in yacht clubs across all forms of media to build interest and engagement in our sport. WGIS seeking Volunteer Copywriters The Women & Girls in Sailing (WGIS) Committee is seeking enthusiastic writers with an interest in sailing to assist with promoting events for women and girls across Victoria. Read more about the role here.
