Nestled in the heart of Williamstown, Hobsons Bay Yacht Club enjoys a prime waterfront location just moments from local shops, dining, and Williamstown's vibrant social scene. With picturesque views of Port Phillip Bay to the Melbourne CBD and the West Gate Bridge, our Club offers a truly unique setting. Just 15-minutes from the city by car and easily accessible by public transport, HBYC is both convenient and inviting for members and visitors alike. 

At HBYC, inclusivity is more than a value, it's how we operate. We proudly welcome people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Whether you're a seasoned sailor or completely new to the sport of sailing, you'll find an open door and a friendly face at HBYC. Sailing is an accessible and rewarding activity, offering physical exercise, mental wellbeing, and a rare chance to connect with nature and the wildlife of the bay. You don't need to own a boat or a yacht to get involved. Those interested in social sailing or crewing are encouraged to contact the Club to get more information on how to be a part of HBYC community.  

Our Club delivers a dynamic year-round calendar of racing, cruising, and social events designed to engage both sailors and non-sailors. Our popular Twilight Series runs on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from October to March, offering relaxed, community focused racing that typically lasts one to two hours. Through winter, the Brass Monkey Series regularly attracts around 40 club boats, keeping the momentum alive year-round. Beyond sailing, HBYC hosts a wide range of social events including live music, cruising dinners, and family-friendly celebrations throughout the year. 

HBYC is proud to support the local business in the community that utilise our amazing facilities, which include a hall, meetings rooms, and fully equipped commercial kitchen available for hire.
